ARMORED CAR GUARD SHOT-KILLED DURING ROBBERY
NEW ORLEANS LA Dec 18 2013 An armored truck security officer was shot to death this morning while unloading money at a Chase bank at South Carrollton and South Claiborne avenues.
Three men approached him around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, New Orleans police said. The robbers fired shots into the guard, took the money and fled.
The security officer, who was found by a Loomis truck, was 45, said NOPD officer Garry Flot, a police spokesman. He said police have found the suspects’ vehicle but did not release any further information.
Carolyn Treaudo Bell said her niece was the other guard of the Loomis vehicle and was unharmed. The niece, identified as Anjanee Treaudo, called her aunt crying, saying her partner was shot. “She was crying, she was just overwhelmed, just in grief,” Treaudo Bell said shortly after the shooting. She said her niece had been working as an armored guard for about a year.
“I’m thankful,” her aunt said, “but so really upset about her partner.”
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased security officer. |
