Security Guard Charged With Killing Supervisor
MARCH 19 2014
MARINA DELRAY CA.
An apartment security guard has been charged with the murder of his supervisor after he was suspended for bringing his girlfriend to work.
Byron Keith Street, 47, is charged with murdering Patrick Odoikyene, 47, who was found shot to death at 2:48 a.m. last Dec. 30 outside the upscale Shores apartment complex in the 4200 block of Via Marina.
The murder charge includes the special circumstance allegation that Odoikyene was murdered during the course of a burglary, along with an allegation that Street personally and intentionally discharged a handgun during the crime.
Street had been suspended by Odoikyene, his immediate supervisor, for bringing his girlfriend to work, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Street and his girlfriend, Ann Una Bailey, 23, of Inglewood, were charged Jan. 3 with five counts of theft and one count of false personation. Street was also charged with one count of counterfeit seal.
Street has since been charged with one count each of murder, first- degree residential burglary and ex-felon in possession of a firearm, along with three counts of vandalism with more than $400 damage.
He is due back at the Airport Branch Courthouse in Los Angeles April 15, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
