Police are investigating after they say that a Warehouse security officer shot and killed
a man who was attempting to burglarize the business.

Officers responded to call about a man attempting to rob the building in the Inland Empire Saturday night, officials said.

Police officers arrived at the scene just before midnight to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds and an uninjured security guard employed by the business. The wounded man died at the scene, according to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. His name wasn’t revealed.

Police were called to the scene, in the 1200 block of Philadelphia Avenue in the city of Eastvale, by a robbery-in-progress call made at 11:50 p.m., said sheriff’s deputies, who were investigating the shooting along with police officers.

At this time police do not have the complete details of what occurred at the investigation is on-going.
